You need to see which ROM you are running there are several opinions on which is best. Of the original DELL ROM's 12 is the last official update and is the most reliable.
Yes it is free. You might be able to find the A12 rom on the Dell website. If not someone from the forum will probably have it and be able to send it to you. You can also find alot of useful information here. Good luck
