Windows mobile device center not working

I have not been able to sync my axim x51 since july 12. Every time i attempt to open WMDC, it says that it has stopped working before it even opens. It then shuts down and says that it is restarting which it ever does. It then tells me that it has stopped working and will let me know when it has found a solution. I have run checked for viruses and there are none. The funny thing is share the lap top with my husband and WMDC works fine under his sign in. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and no luck. Can anyone help me???

Did you uninstall and reinstall while you were logged on to the laptop or did you do it while logged in under his ID? Because, that will make a difference. I have a laptop for my kids and we have 3 accounts (admin for me, hers, and his) and if i install a program while logged in as admin i have to go and install it logged in on her ID and then his.

yes I uninstalled and reinstalled under my login and still received the same response. I click on it to open it, it acts as if it is opening, but then it says that it has stopped working, it then shuts down and restarts. Then i get a response that says it has shut down and will notify when it has found solution. WMDC never opens. i am at my wits end i dont know what else to do.

Been thinking about your problem. You should research registry issues when it comes to uninstalling and reinstalling programs. Sometimes even though you uninstall a program u don't really uninstall it especially under the Vista multiple user system. Try uninstalling the WMDC under all log ons and then reinstal it. My GUESS is that there's a sharing issue since it works for your husband and not for you. This issue may be resolved if you completely remove WMDC from the machine. It may also help if you run a program to clean up your registry. Good luck and let us know how it works out.

Hey Tali:
You need to open up windoze mobile device center. Click on the gear 'mobile device settings'. Click on 'change content sync settings.' Click on 'sync settings' for whatever particuler content you want to sync, calendar, contacts, etc. Each profile/sign in name must be checked off and enabled, otherwise no go.
