x51v WiFi and reset problems

I am a new member and am hoping someone can help me with problems I am having with my x51v. I have had a x50v for several years and recently purchased a x51v. The seller told me that the 51v had been upgraded to WM6. I am having problems connecting to the internet. I hard reset, found and entered my Linksys router settings and can now lock onto the router. It connects with the router almost immediately with normal signal quality but when I try to access any internet site I get the message "The page cannot be found. Check the name and try again". My old x50v has no trouble accessing the internet other than it takes it a few more seconds to connect with the router. The pulldown menu from the Connectivity icon at the top of the screen on the x51v also has a "Turn off flight mode" tab which doesn't seem to work and I'm not sure what it's intended to do in any event. One last problem is that the unit soft resets every time I change the battery and the date reverts back to a June 2005 setting. This doesn't happen when I do a normal soft reset. Any help will be appreciated. HSH
