Cant sync with Activesync
I have been able to sync my x51 with both my home and work pc with no problems until recently. I am still able to sync at home, but unable to sync with my work PC. At work I am using Activesync 4.5. Every time I try to sync I get a pop up window that states “Activesync can not connect to window mobile powered device. To trouble shoot click ok”. I trouble shoot and it is not able to find any issues. I have uninstalled and reinstalled activesync, deleted the partnerships on both the device and PC. I even followed some advice I saw and deleted from task manager wcesmgr.exe, wcescomm, rapimgr and that allowed me to create a partnership and sync one time. I have not be able to sync again. I know that my cradle is okay and I am not able to sync via IR as my PC does not have it. Can someone help me???

I have a similar problem with one of my two Vista computers. On the desktop, syncing works fine. On the laptop...nothing. When I open Windows Mobile Device Center on the laptop, I get a small window which says only "Allow USB Connections" and "Allow connections to one of the following". On the desktop, when I click WMD Center, I get a window that has options for Programs and Services; Pictures, Music and Video; File Management; and Mobile Device Settings. It almost seems as though the laptop version is not fully installed, but that's the way it came on the computer. Any ideas? BTW, I am running A12 on the Axim, and the subject of another query will be, how do I get the latest ROM?
Thanks.

Mark, have a look at this article here for details of the latest version for your Axim Rom. NB: it is not a dell approved ROM, but it works.

Talia, what OS do you have on the PC? I'm on a different ROM version, the syntax you refer to is ROM AO12/WM5. With that option disabled you should still be able to connect via usb, the axim just doesn't set up a virtual network connection with the PC. Are you tryin to connect through a USB Hub? What version of activesync are you using?

Have you tried a soft reset, when the ax doesn't connect? Soft reset with the ax still connected to the PC, That used to work for me when activestink was being finicky!
