My ppc freezes (cannot execute \windows\skschm.exe)
Hello
Whe I soft reset my PPC a notification error appears telling that
"cannot execute \windows\skschm.exe"
and i cannot access the device through tapping the screen (it is dead)
but it synchronizes without any problem and i can explore folders of my

Is there anyway to resolve the problem without hard reseting the device ?

I can't find any similar problems anywhere. Can you find that file on your AX when it's sync'd up? Maybe you could replace it with a copy of the file that is known to work. Otherwise, i'd back up what i could if your able to sync and access your AX. It looks like a hard reset may be your only other option.

Kadell,
Have you tried SBSH (or SKKV?) SKSchema at any time? SKSCHM.EXE looks as if it's part of that program - see the last 2 comments in this thread :
http://forums.sbsh.net/lofiversion/i...hp/t17019.html
If you have, perhaps you could try reinstalling it -there's a 14-day trial at
http://s-k-tools.com/index.html?m_downloads.html#sc
and uninstalling in the hope that it will remove whatever entry is causing the message.
Failing that, perhaps someone could advise on registry editing? My own knowledge of that isn't up to the job.

Kadell,
Further to my message above, I came across Mobile Registry Editor v1.1 - a freeware program which you could use to look through your registry to see if skschm.exe is mentioned anywhere.
If you do use this, unless you're VERY sure of what you're doing, don't change anything - post what you see here and someone who knows what they're talking about will help.

Thanks for your concerns here
I contacted sktools
they said
"This file from uncorrectly uninstalled/installed skschema.
Run SKTools, goto Notification queue , find and delete all skschm.exe related records."
But since i cannot access my ppc through taping screen, i cannot do that
Before i hard reset my device i wanted to know
is there anyway to install a program on axim x51v by bypassing the screen asking you where to install the program
i mean program be installed automaticlly without needing to tap anything on screen (like win 2003 devices)
maybe it will help me
thanks

People usually ask for *more* choice and control :-)
I have no idea whether it's the Axim operating system or the program installer which asks, but one way that would probably make the decision simple would be to remove the SD & CF cards - this would force an installation to internal memory. I haven't tried this - just a guess. I don't think it's possible to bypass it altogether.
As to your freezing problem, I suspect that there is a registry entry which names SKSCHM.EXE. The registry editor works on your PC, and you can make changes to the Axim from your PC keyboard. There is no search function, so you would have to look through the registry directory by directory, but it would avoid a hard reset. Since the Axim doesn't work anyway, changing the registry can do no harm - the worst that can happen is that you'll have to do a hard reset anyway.
Unless you have essential stuff on the Axim, I reckon your simplest bet is a hard reset. Remove the cards beforehand (just in case - I don't think they would be affected, but why take chances?).
For exactly this reason I take a full backup of the internal memory to the CF. If I ever get a problem, I can simply restore. In fact, writing this has prompted me to do it again today - thanks for the reminder.
Good luck.
