TOMTOM conflicts

Does anyone know if there are conflicts with TOMTOM navigator?
I have TOMTOM 6 on my AX and i just loaded GPSTuner to cover any offroad treks i might make, however i can't get GPSTuner to recognize my GlobalSat 359 bluetooth GPS reciever. Any help would be appreciated.

If one application is using a serial port (BT or directly connected), that port can't be used by another application. Dell made the External GPS application to get around this physical limitation through software. I haven't used the External GPS program but it should work. It's in the System settings in WM6, I remember it was in WM5 too but can't recall the name of the management program.

Hey Mahstah welcome back i thought maybe you had abandoned the board all together. Now that you mention it i do remember seeing the external GPS function i'll have to give it a whirl and see what happens.

Mahstah, i've tried every setting in can think of with no success. After reading Thunderbuck's post i see where it may be a problem with the windows software. I just can't figure out why my AX see's my GPS unit, and when i run TOMTOM the bluetooth comes on and connects to my GPS unit on COM1, but when i try to connect GPSTuner on COM1 it doesn't work. Also, if i just turn on my bluetooth and turn on my GPS unit my AX sees my GPS, but it won't actually connect according to the GPS units connection indicator. I'll keep trying to see what i can do.

Thanks blue yj, I've been so busy the last couple of months all I had time for was attending to registrations here. Have you gotten GPS Tuner to connect without any other apps running?

No i haven't. Like i said TOMTOM starts and starts up the bluetooh on it's own and connects to the unit. But the AX GPS utility or GPSTuner or the utility program for my unit will connect to my GPS unit. I thought i had read somewhere (but i can't find it again) that if TOMTOM is installed it won't let any other GPS unit connect to your AX. I was hoping by posting here someone might have seen that also, or know a work around.
