Axim X51 - Going Wireless

I didn't spring for the X51v back a few years ago when I got my Ax because it wasn't an issue at the time. These days, it would be a bit handy to have wireless, but not a big enough deal to warrant purchasing a new Ax. I did run across this:

mini sd 802.11b wireless card (I'm not even looking at the b/g model, so you can see that it's not a huge issue for me!)

It's cheap, so I'm considering it. My only question is this; can I simply drop this into an SD card adapter, slide it in to my Ax, install the drivers and be surfing wireless internet?

Here's another option. I'm not sure that the SD slot in the X51 is an SDIO slot. And it's a bit cheaper. Good luck.

i just did a wireless set up on my x51 . . i bought a linksys CF wireless card only to find out that the "low end" AXIM [which i have} doesnt support CF wireless cards...i turned around and ordered a SPECTEC 802.11B, SDIO WLAN-11B card off ebay for 25 bucks, did the A12 ROM update and loaded the wireless cd though the sync.......follwed the directions on the screen and was online ...only complaints ....... bought 50 feet is all i can get with a good signal and the sdio card sticks out about a 1/4 of and inch which just bugs the crap out of my anal personality, lol - -good luck hope that helps, AL

snowboss - i agree with you, that 1/4 will bug the crap out of me as well, hahaha! I guess it's the little things.
