Alarm kills battery

I've been using an X51v for a while and really like it MOST of the time.

I mostly use the calendar to keep track of/remind me of appointments. It seems like if I don't acklowledge an appointment and deliberately turn off the machine, it wil turn on to remind me and then stay on until the battery dies.

Is there a way to have it shut off after the reminder? Has anyone else found a work around?

This is a known issue with older ROMs. Check your ROM version in System Information and if it's less than A12, update it.

It says A12 (06200600).

Is there a newer rom?

Your at the latest official ROM if that's what your's reads. However, there is an A17 which i think was a beta release, and of course there's the WM6 unofficial release that seems to be working out well for everyone. Good luck.

I've seen a few posts about both the A17 and WM6 and have considered an upgrade, but I still think I may be missing something.

Is there a setting hidden somewhere that will tell it to shut off after reporting a reminder?

OK... I bit the bullet and flashed up to wm6 a03 rtm
This seems to have solved the problem.... hopefully without creating more.
