Wireless Bluetooth Keyboard vs IR

Hi Guys:

I know this has probably been hashed over many times, but I'm in the market for a wireless keyboard for my X51v.

Which is the best for the X51v? Bluetooth or IR?

Is there a specific manufacturer that is preferred or best? I'd really like a foldout type of keyboard, so I can stowe it easily.

I just got back from a 9 day trip and that little pen/pointer just is not good for doing serious email.

Hi Don, the advantage of an IR keyboard would be that you could still use BT dial up networking whilst using it. If this is not a consideration BT seems to be the preferred keyboard of choice, for most people. The "Think Outside" iGo stowaway keyboards have always been highly recommended. $130 for their basic unit and $150 for slimline to save marginal space. Lately I've been toying with the Idea of one of these but I think that just appeals to my sense of novelty. Speaking of novelty you may as well get a mouse as well.

I ended up purchasing the Freedom Universal Keyboard. I chose this one for a couple of reasons. 1. It's bluetooth and I don't plan on using it all that much, just when vacationing and need to do some email. So I'm not really concerned about battery drain as I'd have the PDA in the docking stand 2. The folding keyboard was staggered through the keys; making it feel more like a normal keyboard rather than the straight line division on others. I've used it a few times and it seems pretty comfortable to use.

So far, my expectation have been met and I'm not sorry I bought this one.

Hi Don,
I too have opted for a Freedom Keyboard for my Axim 51V after much consideration and web site viewing. Are there any quirks or tips that you can share with me regarding the loading of drivers etc. This idea of correct drivers and the like frightens the hell out of me for I am convienced that I'll fool up something.
