The X51 does not work without the cover in place. It does work without a battery but with a cover in place while powered.

That's what I thought, but if you could rig something to depress the battery cover switch it would also run on AC with cover off?

Yeh, but what's the point of that? Wouldn't it just be easier to use your full scale computer? Or are you just being prepared for every possibility? LOL

LOL sounds like you lack confidence in your skills. No worries though. I've often wondered why i tried something after i spent hours on end repairing my fact finding missions. But hey live and learn. I've always felt that there's nothing that i can break that someone can't fix lol.

Not really, but I do prefer a stable environment for testing, and my ax is purring, and I rely on it for daily tasks. That said if I had a spare I probably would of, the funniest thing about this is the reason I'm not able to access my cradle at the moment and am relying on charging from laptop is that we had an event at work and my office is full of spare chairs, about 48 bean bags and a whole heap of theatre props that don't have a home at the moment,so I'm even more reliant on the ax than ever! And how does that make me feel
