Opera 8.x for WM3/WM5 (what I'm I doing wrong here?)

Greetings,

After using a older 'hacked' version of Opera for my Ax51v on/off for many months, I finally decided to take the plunge and BUY the silly thing so I could look at REAL web pages on my device as well as take in the newer versions of the program without getting the 30day eval timeouts.

MUCH TO MY DISMAY, after installing 8.5/8.6beta on my handheld as NOT the default browser, Opera seems to have BROKE my registry and now MSN links and Yahoo GO links don't work anymore.

Uninstalling 8.6beta seems to of FIXED PocketIE but now I'm left with PocketIE and don't have Opera to use.

Is there a way to restore the default browser settings in the registry after installing Opera?

Since I've been having problems with it, I've done a HARD-RESET and then a complete data backup _before_ installing Opera. I suppose I might be able to just do a restore, soft reset and the program will remain on my SD card and my registry will be returned to pre-opera install?

Any ideas on this? What might I be doing wrong here? What I'm I missing?

Ok.... color me stupid... I think I solved my own question.

Lets see if I remember it right:
1. Install Opera
2. Open Opera and enter reg-key
3. Verify that it messes up MSN/Yahoo with PIE
4. Uninstall Opera
5. Verify that MSN/Yahoo/PIE work as expected
6. Backup registry
7. Install Opera
8. Restore registry
10. Enjoy having PIE and Opera on the same device!

(the registration seems to have held over the uninstall/reinstall as well!)

Mozilla has just released an update to Minimo 0.2, much more stable then the previous beta release, plus it handles SSL pages much better.

Is it any faster than the old version? That was the major beef with Minimo. Opera is my favorite for the desktop and PDA for now but I'll try the new Minimo.

I'll jump in and try the new Minimo to. I hope they changed the FONT sizes...

While you can make much of the text larger in the prior release, my major gripe with Minimo was being able to read the screen!

Yah it seems quicker, less lockups, pretty much functional

They have the squint-o-vision address bar :-(
