Well my comment was more to the fact that i'd really like it if my AX was cellular also.

Understood blue 93 jeep yj, but the Axims can be equipped with cellular cards and software. We aren't disagreeing with you, we disagree with the 'who cares' attitude Hudson employs.
Is there a cellular card for an AX? I've never really explored that option. I'm due a new phone anyway and if i could use my AX i'd seriously consider going that route. As long as we're not talking about skype wifi phone service.
First off, sorry for the delay on this. In addition to recent coverage by blogs like Engadget, jkOnTheRun and others, I’ve gotten a few e-mails and a comment from Direct2Dell reader David H. Deans who’ve asked me to confirm whether we’ve discontinued the Axim line or not. The answer is yes, we have.
I’d like to say thanks to all the folks like David and Chris Leckness for their interest in the products. For the 4 years we were in the handheld market, we made many friends and had a blast developing and shipping products to serve different needs.
Why did we make the decision? Because of a steadily declining market for pen-based PDAs and noted over the past several quarters by analyst firms like IDC and Gartner.
Even though we’re not selling them anymore, we still have plans to support our customers. Dell will provide technical and warranty support for Axim and Dell-branded Axim peripherals per the terms defined in the support agreement and limited warranty agreements at the time of purchase.
We also to offer batteries, power cables, AC adapters and sync cable customer kits for the Axim X51/X51v through 2009. All other Dell-branded Axim X51/X51v peripherals are expected to be available through mid-2007 or while supplies last.
Thanks again to all our customers who made the Axim line successful for the last few years.

:-( One of the best pocket PC's out there and they cancel it. It figures.
Perhaps when Apple releases the iPhone people will realize the advantages to pen or touch based handhelds over the chiclet keyed Blackberries et al and Dell will blow the dust off the x51V and integrate it with a cell phone and make something to blow away everybody else.

Why do PDA phones have such crappy specs? I see tons of 200 MHz WM5 PDA phones (thought WM5 was slow on 624?). If anyone can show me a PDA phone with higher specs than the X51v I can show you an X51v killer.

Heres a phone it's a bit clunky, big but the specs are awsome. The price is probably too!![]()
True, I should have included a price qualifier. At around 6x4 inches it's not exactly pocket sized but nice specs and options.
Remember the Jornada? Are we back in time? I think there's a belt clip option, with chiropractic supportOriginally Posted by Mahstah

Well, I can't say this is surprising. With all the problems I have personally experienced with two x51v s, I have to believe that this machine was just a good idea badly executed. When you stop and think about all the difficulties so many of us had to deal with, and you compare this gadget with other electronic toys, this loses hands down every time. With all its issues, I have to believe it caused a hemmorhage at Dell Tech Support. When you spend $500 for a device, it ought to work a lot better than these do. I look forward to buying something better as soon as this one keels over and flat-lines.
