AXIM X51v Won't sinc with Windows VISTA
I have just upgraded my Desktop Computer to Windows VISTA from XP I could Sinc with XP but I am unable to sinc with VISTA. I downloaded the latest Software for the Pocket PC from the Microsoft Web Site. I get the "NEW" Sinc screen but it says that it is not connected and I can't get it to connect.
Anyone able to connect their AXIM X51v to their Computer using VISTA ???
If so how did you do it ??? The only thing that I can think of is possibly a protection problem Any ideas on this ???

Try downloading MS Mobile Device Center. It's ActiveSync for Vista.

Still Can't Sinc with VISTA
I downloaded the Latest Software from Microsoft for interfacing/Connecting the Dell AXIM X51v but I am still unable to sinc. I downloaded "Windows Mobile Device Center" and when I run it I get the following:
A Window that at the top says acros top of the Wimdow "Windows Mobile Devive Center" Just below that it says "Home" Both of these are in a Light blue band across the top of the Window. The main part of the window is a Green fading to light Blue at the Bottom in the upper cornor of the Green part is the Windows 4 flag Trade Mark to the right of that is says Windows in small print and right below in very large print Mobile. Below this on the left hand side is the picture of a PDA with a picture of a Cell Phone to just below and to the left of the PDA and covering a part of it. In the Center of the Window is the picture of a STAR Washer with the Following text to the right of it "Mobile Device Settings". In the lower left hand cornor is a circle with a line thru it and next to it the words "Not Connected"
I have set the Mobile Device Settings to USB as that is how my Dell AXIM X51v is connected. I have tried removing the AXIm from its cradle and reinstalling it Re-Bouting the Computer. Deleting the Windows Mobile Device Center Software that cane with Windows VISTA. Reloading the Software from the Microsoft web Site. Reloading Vista
I am Running Windows VISTA Ultimate 32 Bit FULL Version.
Any ideas on how I can get the AXIM to sinc ???
any and All help would be most appriciated
Thank for reading my short story

Richard,
You upgraded to VISTA? On purpose? I'm so sorry. Good Luck.

Can't Sync With VISTA
I had the same problem, took me three days to figure out how to fix it. If you have downloaded the latest version of Active Sync for VISTA that is the first step (installed it too, I assume).
Go to START, SETTINGS then the CONNECTIONS tab. Tap the USB to PC icon and uncheck "Enable advanced network functionality."
Also be sure "Flight Mode" is turned off. I don't know if this affects USB or not, but I turned it off because it does affect Blue Tooth (and I'm not on an airplane most of the time.)
Hope this fixes it for you.

similar issue
I'm having trouble getting my x51v to connect to my laptop but mine seems to be intermittent. Sometime it connects sometimes it doesn't.
So, I'm loooking through posts to perhaps draft behind one you really smart guys ...
Anyway, I tried your suggestion but I don't have a "usb to pc" icon on my Start>Settings>Coonections screen ...
What am I missing ?
Also, if I can't get my pda to connect, how can I upgrade my active sync ?

Hugeblur, if you don't have the USB->PC option in your connections screen it means that you're at a ROM level less than A12. The option was added in that ROM release. You should upgrade your ROM to at least A12, if not A17 if you want to stay in WM5 or the "Football" ROM if you want to go to WM6.
