Internet Explorer configuration problem?

Hello to you Axim gurus!

Just got my newest toy and I can't connect it to the internet.
Dell help desk ran out of solutions and they mentioned this forum, you guys must be good!

I have connection between the router and the Axim. When I log into my router by typing its IP adress on my PC, I see my Axim on there, and I get all 5 green bars on my Axim. Sign that it should work, isn't it?

When I want to access internet with internet explorer, it does not get anywhere. Have you experienced something like this before?

If you clarify your environment someone here will be able to help you. Answer these questions and we can narrow down the possible problems.

What ROM version are you using on the Axim?
What ROM version are you using on the router, and is it the newest ROM for it? Make and model too, please.
Do you have encryption enabled, if so, what kind?
Is your router broadcasting in 802.11b, g, or b+g?

My Axim is brand new, so it has all the latest, as shown in your other thread.
ROM is A12
My router is a TrendNet TEW-432BRP
I do believe it is an 11g (that's what it says on the front and also in the utility menu accessible from the IP adress).

However, my Axim seems to be connected, it has its own IP adress and the packets received/transmitted do go up.

I don't see anything that looks like ROM in the router's specs.

Please help!

The X51v can only connect to 802.11b networks, so if your router is broadcasting in g only mode it will appear as connected but never get anywhere. You must broadcast in b only or b/g mixed mode. If you look through your router's programming you'll find a page that lists the ROM (might be termed firmware) version. Check that version against TrendNet's support page to make sure it has the newest version. Router firmware updates have solved connectivity issues for other users.
