Trouble Sending Comcast Email

I have an Axim X51v, Windows Mobile 5.0, Outlook 2002. I am trying to setup my Comast Email account to work with Outlook. I have followed all of the instruction that Comast offered. I am able to receive email's just fine, but when I try to send email's it fails. When I send the email, it moves the email to my Outbox folder. I have tried to move the email from the Outbox folder to the Sent Items folder, then tried to send again...still does not work. PLEASE HELP!

If you can receive email but not send it means that your POP settings are good but your SMTP settings are not. Double check all SMTP authentication settings and port settings in the email profile.

I used the settings for the SMTP that Comcast said to use which is smtp.comcast.net. This works for my Desktop Computer Outlook, but not for my Dell Axim X51v, Windows Mobile 5.0, Outllook.

Comcast uses outgoing authentication.

In your account setup in step 5 of 5, tap options. On the second screen, check 'outgoing mail requires authentication'.

If it doesn't work, you may need to set the outgoing port to 587.

yup - same thing I had to deal with, using hughes.net (satellite) as my internet connection. They require that you use that "outgoing mail requires authentication" thingie. I'm sure that's your trouble.
