This is actually what's commonly referred to by Microsoft as an "update rollup". The term "driver rolling patch" is proof that it was written by someone who doesn't speak English, and the description was equally poorly written. I had the same qualms about the A12 ROM update. Dell is a big company, surely they can assign ONE English speaking person to proofread their publicly released software!
It contains the wifi update that was released in October, a switcherbar program update, CF driver update (same as included in A12?), and a mic update.

I installed it but don't see a diffreence yet. Thanks for bringing it to our attention though kellyt!

Is there a way to see if the patch has already been installed prior to shipment? I received my x51v from Dell in January and the patch came out 12/6/2006.

I have yet to find someone who hasn't installed the patch to tell me what the pre-install info is to identify the firmware info. If you install the patch and see different info from what is posted above, please let us know.

Mahstah, I have upgraded to the A12 it went flawlessly. However you had suggested I also install this patch that did not go so well. I am so confused.
Saved the file to the "my Docs"\Personal. clicked the file (R142389) This opened Colorado, with a set up file. Not sure what to do from here. Clicked set up and it asked for a folder where to unload it. Totally different, am I on the right path, I don't know if this thing installed or not.
Instructions leave a lot to be desired for a noob. It's a bit like throwing the keys to someone who has never driven, telling them "here open the door turn the key and drive" I am a bit concerned about the file structure here too, should I have a Centralised place for all these things I don't want a bunch of file folders all over.
UPDATE, please ignore Colorado update issue I figured it out. Went to MS and they had some help. I think I just need to cement how the moving of files and file types are.

Congrats on finally upgrading! The file system is actually more simple on the PPC than in Windows, it's more like Unix. It's a heirarchy based on a root, its subdirectories, and mounted drives (cards). No silly drive letters like MS uses in Windows.

Today I'mfeeling all pleased with myself regarding yesterdays conquests, what is the main purpose of the Folder installed to my desk top when I first sync. What do people use this for mostly. Named "WM My Documents" on my machine.

This is straying pretty far from the driver rollup package...
Whatever you put into the folder on your desktop gets synced with My Docs on the Axim. I don't use it because I prefer to manually place things where I want them. For some, it's a bit easier.
