ActiveSync with Bluetooth
Anyone successfully using Bluetooth with ActiveSync? Not been able to get it working. I've followed the instructions from Microsoft but still can't get it to work.
TIA.

You need to make the first sync via cable or USB cradle, the Bluetooth will work.

Bluetooth works for me--been using it for 6 months now to sync when I am in the living room and the computer is back in the office.

No ActiveSync Bluetooth Service
I HAD been using ActiveSync just fine for quite a while, but it's gone missing all of a sudden.
Every time I try to create a new partnership with my laptop, ActiveSync doesn't appear on the list of the laptop's available Bluetooth services. No amount of repeated tries or refreshes makes ActiveSync appear. All I see is "Serial Port" and "Dial-up Networking."
I've tried a variety of things based on posts I've seen here. I've repeated the procedure with ActiveSync running on the laptop, then again while it was closed. Did the same thing with Outlook.
ActiveSync works fine when I connect the USB cradle.
Would welcome any assistance anyone could provide.

yes, BT is the only way that I sync my x51v to my computers. To the best of my memory, even the original sync was done by bluetooth. Mahstah's link is a good explanation. I also have a cheapy dongle on my computers and the Blue Soleil software, and it works fine.
Are you using Blue Soleil?

I was wondering if there is a way to sync with my computer using the Wifi besides the exchange server. And if not, how would i go about setting up exchange server on my home network?

Setting up an Exchange server is not suggested for home users. It is price and difficulty prohibitive unless you have experience with domain server administration.
You can use emoze, a free push client for PPCs, to sync via wifi. Using it, you aren't tied to your home network, you can sync from anywhere wirelessly.

I'll have to see if i can find emoze. I'm thinking of passing on my PC to my daughter which would leave me only with my X51v, but to do that i'd want to be able to sync with that PC over Wifi.
