Syncing 2 Axim 51v's Calendars?
OK, i am new to the PDA universe. i owned a old palm 8 years ago. WOW have things changed. i run a small company and my partner and my schedules are impossible. i have researched what feels like thousands of these things from smart phones to PDA's. we feel we have landed on the Axim. My biggest question is can you sync just the calendar on two Axim 51v's? We currently use laptops and computers for our schedules but that only works when you hit the office and maintain it. We more often than not meet in a pasture in the middle of nowhere for our corporate meetings. we are contractors. we need our schedules to be on but have not been able to accomplish this. missed meetings and followups due to lack of organization is killing us. i will use many other functions of these PDA's but this is the big one. Can i throw my laptop outlook calendar away and use 2 axim's for syncing our schedules in the middle of a pasture in ND thru bluetooth or infrared beaming? i will use the wifi in our office or a local hotspot for email and web brousing. any input would be appreciated. i have looked and looked and have not found this topic.

You can beam calendar appointments between PDAs by tapping and holding the appointment and choosing beam appointment. This works on a one-by-one basis. To sync calendar entries en masse you can cradle both PDAs on one host computer (separately) and sync your Outlook via ActiveSync. You can only have one PDA sync email per computer but calendar and contacts can sync with two PDAs.

Could there be some additional software to help me out here? otherwise it seems that this is not the answer to our problems either. I want a total sync of calendar and not one by one appointments. This does not seem that difficult to me but i am not a programer either. Cant one axim think the other axim is a computer set to just sync calendar? Help, any other ideas?

I think i missed the last part of this reply when i first read it. i have ordered two Axim x51v's from Dell with extended batteries and aluminum cases with car chargers. I look forward to utilizing this forum as my skills are challenged by my new tools.

Synch
FORCE,
For whats its worth, I have basically the same requirement with my wife's calendar, so we each know where the other, and the kids, are supposed to be. What we have done is this: My wife updates the Outlook calendar and Contacts on the home computer, or her PDA, and I update my PDA. Periodically, we both synch to the same home computer and update both PDA's. This application of both PDA units and the base computer supports the feedback from Mahstah, and I hope this is helpful.

I use my Yahoo mail.address book/calendar. Sync with yahoo to go (google it) with multiple PPCs using one Yahoo account. Works great with bluetooth. Data is also accessable from any PC or laptop with an internet connection.

I have a related question. Is it possible to sync Outlook from two desktops to a single Axim X51v? When we travel together my wife would like to sync her Outlook calendar and address book to my 51v. I would prefer that her info was stored separately on the Axim, if that is possible.

You can sync calendar and contacts with two computers and email with only one, but the calendars and contacts will be combined on the two computers unless you choose to overwrite the Axim with each sync. The calendar and contacts are stored in one database, and there isn't a third party utility that I know of to have separate calendar profiles. If anyone knows otherwise please correct me.

I haven't tried this, but FinchSync may be a solution. It allows you to synch with Sunbird, which allows for separate calendars.
