Axim x51v screen problem

Hi, I am a new user of Axim x51v. I bought it just recently, and carried it with me in the cover provided by Dell. Unfortubately, because of this, the screen probably sticked to the screen unde and now, when viewing the screen from most of the angles as well as in powerfull light, there is a multicolored-mostly-green and red pattern that bothers me very much. It's not on the extent of all screen, the edges of the screen (about .5 in) are not affected.

Does any of you has this problem? Is there enything to do to make dissapear that owfull pattern. I must add that the screen it's not damaged.

It sounds like your LCD is internally damaged which might not be visibly obvious. Is the Axim still under warranty?

Yes, it is under warranty. The LCD is not internally damaged. It is actually a light interference pattern (for those that know what this is). It's like when you have the soap bubbles and you see a coloured pattern under light. Because the edges are not affected is also obvious that this has been caused by the fact that the outer screen is sticked to the next layer. This is at most an annoyng thing. I can still use it and if I hold it under the right angle the pattern is not visible anymore. Do you think this is a reason to return or claim warranty?

I would return it. Whether you want to put up with an annoyance is your choice, but the X51v's screen is one of its nicest qualities. You don't have to deal with any downtime since Dell will send you a (refurbished, but like new) replacement unit and you send yours back in the same box. Online chat seems to be the best way to get through to them quickly.
