power off by password setting while recording

Recently my Axim 51v has been replaced. Now my device has version A12 rom, and all works.
However I'm not so pleased wioth the new password 'features'. I think it's part of the new bios but maybe somebody can clear this for me.

I've set a 4 digit pin and I've set it to re-appear after 5 min of inactive.
Power off is set after inactive for 3 min.
So far nothing new with my previous version (a06). But now the problem:
When I record I want it to keep recording. To my definition this is not inactive. Nevertheless the Axim stops recording after 5 minutes. It doesn't power off after 3 minutes.
Ofcoarse I can disable the pasword but that means no security at all. It isn't much anyway.
Does anyone has a way around this?
Can I change a setting?
Now I have to disable the password (lock in version A12) and remember to set it again after the recording session, which is suich a hassle and if I forget I have no security.

You could set the password to "prompt if device unused for" 0 minutes. That way, it will only ask for the password at each power on, not after a period of "inactivity".
