Can receive email on V51 but can't send
I have put my isp in several times. Checked and rechecked..but still I can't send email on the PDA? Any thoughts? I even went to the geek squad but they don't do PDA's stopped at Circuit city. He tried but couldn't see anything wrong. I called my Isp provider, dell, everyone but microsoft. I am thinking Microsoft outlook ties everything together so I tried using outlook express still no luck...Help!

POP is for receiving and SMTP is for sending.
What email account are you trying to send from and what do you have in the SMTP settings? You may need to check your SMTP authentication settings. Outlook Express does not sync with ActiveSync, only Outlook.

I am using Microsoft outlook and my isp is www.prolog.net the mail server is promail.ptd.net. I have the block checked that says outgoing smpt requires authentication. I am not sure I understand what you mean by what account am I using?? Did I answer the question?
I can send and receive in Microsoft Outlook on my big computer, although it will not test for outgoing mail. I can still send. On my Dell I can receive email but cannot send. It just sits in my outbox!

They have an SMTP authentication instruction page for Outlook Express, but Pocket Outlook has the same settings. The settings on the Axim won't look exactly like OE, but the same options are in the email configuration options.
http://www.ptd.net/support/e-mail/changeSMTPoepc.html
Make sure you're exactly configured as they instruct.

I have done it exactly the way the show on the web site under Microsoft 2000 I could not find one that said 2002. Could it be something in my Axim?? I can send and receive email in outlook but cannot send on the Axim? I got to tell you, I have been working on this a week now.

Yes, the problem is on your Axim if you can't send from the Axim but you can from the desktop. You should be checking your Axim Outlook settings, not your desktop Outlook settings.

Okay, now how do I do that?? Do you mean in messaging? In my outlook on my Axim the send and receive button doesn't light up. I do get all the mail there though, just can't receive. Can you tell me what to change, please?

menu, tools, options and go thru the email process. I have done that a lot of time. It seems to be right. Is that what you are talking about?

You said in your first post that you can't send. You just now said you can't receive. It's a little confusing for me.
Either issue would be resolved by configuring the correct POP3/SMTP settings in your Axim's Pocket Outlook. To get to the settings, press the mail button next to the directional pad. Go to Menu-->Tools-->Options and select your account to change its settings. If it only lists New Account... you have yet to set one up for the Axim.

Yes, that's it.
Can you browse the internet with the Axim?
