Unhappy I can't read a book without lose the contact with the SD card, at least one time!

Hi,

This is my first post on the forum.

Sorry for my poor english.

I was a palm user and today I am a proud user of a X51V, but there is a thing that piss me off depply, i can't read a book without the sd card loses the contact with the device at least one time. Usually it's happen several times and every time the unit disconnect. The Ereader program goes to the bookshelf and I have the open the book again.

Is there a solution for this?

Another thing:

By chance, exists some program that better works with the brightness and the light?
I normally read in the bed and the light and the brightness bother me. I would like to have more graduations.

Hi Selene, welcome to AximUsers.

Your SD card should not lose contact with the X51v. This was an issue with older ROM revisions, before A06. If you are below A12 I'd consider updating. Since the unit is now you likely are at ROM A12. If so, you have either a problem with the SD card or with the reader program.

Try reading a book stored in main memory and see if the SD card still disconnects. Also check the reader software's support site (which software are you using?) for software updates and compatibility information for Windows Mobile 5. Good luck,

Mahstah

Mahstah,

Thanks for your post.
I'm using the A12 ROM. The problem was already happening on the A06 ROM.
I can't understand.
I'm using the Ereader with everything on the SD. I'll try to reinstall the program in the main memory, but think the problem will continues.

Additionally you may wish to check the version of eReader, 2.6.3 is the latest release (March 23 2006) and the release notes say Windows Mobile 5 support. Previous versions did not support WM5.

I'm using the 2.6.3p version that I bought directly on the Ereader site.

I have always used the Ereader with palm and never had problems.

I'm very piss off with this situation. It's happening all the time.

Did you try installing the eReader program and the ebooks to main memory?

Also, about your other question for brightness control, there are 9 graduations of brightness for the Axim. I believe this is an OS limitation. PocketPlus by spb softwarehouse has a today plugin that includes a brightness icon where you can change it from the today screen. Still 9 graduations, no different than the system settings.

I peered around for a hidden mixer applet too, but there doesn't seem to be one.
I had this tip on the AximSite and it's solve the problem.
