Look at
howardforums.com for further information. Those guys have got the whole Verizon Bluetooth issue figured out. The disabling of Bluetooth has nothing to do with the CDMA technology. It has to do with Verizon Wireless being stingy and making people pay for just about anything that would be available as an option. You can find the guidance you need to get around that a little on Howard Forums.
Also, you can tether with your phone whether you have VCast or the basic Web service. What happens if you don't have subscriptions to those services is that it burns your minutes no matter what time of day it is. Verizon will tell you all day long that tehtering is not possible and would be a violation of the TOS. When in fact their TOS includes tethering in the documentation. On Motorola Phones with Bluetooth you hit ##DIALUP (##342587) to enable the dialup netowrking on your phone. And as long as you have done a couple of SEEM modifications on your phone you'll be able to set your PDA up to talk to your phone and get the internet. Otherwise you would have to use the USB data cable attached to your computer/laptop in order to use the dialup internet.

I have a Motorola e815 paired with my x51V and use it to get on the internet all the time. My phone is paid for by my job so I don't care about burning minutes. Best I can tell though there is no option for OBEX available on the x51V. It was available on my x30 and I could transfer all day long with no trouble. Again, Bluetooth OBEX transfers were available through SEEM edits.
