I´ve been doing a bit of searching about this small issue but I haven´t found the posts that talked about something related to the wm5 losing the microdrive and having to do a soft reset to get it recognised again, which is what I´m having to do every time I want to access it.
Is there any easy solution to this problem?

If you haven't updated to the latest ROM (A12), do that. If you're using an earlier version you can perform an Exchange hack to stabilize the CF comms.
Search the forums for X51 A12 or exchange hack for more info.

Done the exchange hack and seems OK so far.
Any hints as to useful (legal) software I could benefit from?. A place to read something about it?.
