Axim X51v Won't Power Up - Resolved
When I tried to turn my X51v on this morning, it wouldn't turn on. The battery is fully charged according to the cradle indicator light, and the power light lights up when the Axim is placed in the cradle or attached to the AC adapter. What gives here? Whoa!! Dell just emailed me and said that they will replace the Axim as soon as I give them a shipping address. I gather that this must be something they've seen before.

The best part is that Dell has changed their attitude towards customer service ... their willingness to exchange or replace. Sometime ago, some of us (from aximusers.com) as well as users from another site (aximsite.com) signed two documents (complaints) wrt Dell's Axims. Hope they will send you a replacement before you even ship yours out. Keep us posted.

Received my replacement X51v this morning before 10:00, along with a prepaid DHL shipping label. It came without a battery, battery cover, or stylus, which is fine. That also means they read the background, because I had told them that the battery charged up without a problem (which also means the battery cover is o.k.). Already ran AutoSync. I just need to run down the street, drop the package off with DHL and I'm done. Needless to say, I'm happy with Dell's response.

Glad to hear you're being served well.
Before the petition, from personal experience, it's very difficult to convince Dell one had a problem ... the tech support person would play dumb (don't know what you're talking about). The first petition had a list of specific technical issues; signed by people from all over the world. It is a good sign to see Dell responded positively to customers' concerns.
Thanks for your feedback (our hard-earned money is well invested).

For power on problem, just soft reset , the power will be on. To prevent this happen again, There is a know FAKE server fix, once applied, there should be no problem at all.
This also fix the white screen problem and dispearing of CF card problem for many users, not all, some reported it does not work.
My personal experience, before I using a CF card, I only use SD card, the fix works great for me, no problem happens any more. But after starting use of CF card, sometimes the white screen problem still happens. But for power not on, it never happens again.

Soft reset did not work. X52v was dead as a doornail. The only problem I had previously had to do with a different keyboard suddenly appearing that made it impossible to enter my password (trust me on this). A hard restart solved that problem, then the Axim died less than two weeks later.
I've received the new one and the old is on it's way back. Issue closed.

Do you have a link to this fix as the problem is awful! I do sooo many soft resets - not so frequently with a full battery but enough to make me consider putting it on ebay, which would be a shame because otherwise I love this Axim!!
Thankyou for any assistance.

Here is the Fake Exchange Server link. You need to create it on your Axim, then manually change the sync schedule. After that, delete the Exchange Server (from your Axim).
It does resolved a lot of weird problems especially those that are driven by the system clock (time dependent events).
The Axim still sync every 10 minutes when it is powered on.

When to do the Fake Server thing
I'm brand new to this forum and am glad I found you guys. I have received invaluable information before making my purchase. I'm awaiting delivery of my x51v. I keep hearing about people having problems with the WSOD and not being able to power on. I see the Fake Server thing posted. Should I do that as soon as I get my device or should I wait until I experience a problem?
