New bluetooth CF card and WM2005

I want to buy a bluetooth card for my x51 (company supplied) - All of the cards I have looked at work under and have drivers for WM2003 but none have drivers specifically tested under WM2005. Are they likely to work?? What are the differences in WM2003 to WM2005 (Has the driver model changed or is it like a change from versions of XP (prior drivers still work) or Win 98 to XP (prior drivers don't work).

Also if any of you have had success with a CF bluetooth card, let me know the vendor

Why do you need a Bluetooth card for your Axim? Are you saying you have an X51 without Bluetooth?

That's amazing, considering it's impossible...

I would have to say I'm really embarrased. I am sort of a techie and knew the x51 had wireless when I got it (I have a wireless network at home and work). Never really gave any thought to bluetooth until I purchased a 56K bluetooth modem on ebay, spur of the moment. Came so close to purchasing a bluetooth card. Today while installing the axim diagnostic, I ran across the bluetooth settings. Went back to the Dell site and ran through the specs. Now I've just got to make it work - I have firmware 03 - and it looks like there may be some issues.

I don't know how you checked the specs, but if you remove the battery, you will find a service tag for your particular axim.

If you then use Dell customer support, enter the Tag number and select Original System configuration, you can check the exact config of your machine as supplied by Dell.

Regardoing the firmware, just make sure that you download and install A05 ( A06 is only for the X51V), most issues are then reduced or even solved.

I've already installed a bunch of programs and got them set up to work plus a couple of wireless utilities and a couple of CF cards (modem, 10/100 ethernet card) and a couple of programs that did not want to play nice with the other kids. Is there anyway to upgrade the firmware and not have to start over??

Sorry, upgrading the firmware on the Axim is similar to reloading Windows on your desktop. You can mass reinstall programs in ActiveSync, so the recovery time isn't as long as you think. Upgrading firmware is highly recommended.
