New Partnership each time I connect?

I don't have much experience with wireless connectivity so I am a bit confused. I have set up a pairing between my Bluetooth keyboard and X51 PDA. I would have expected that the two devices would find each other automatically after I turned Bluetooth on and established a link from the keyboard but instead I still have to establish a new partnership each time I wan to use the keyboard, though I do not have to re-enter the passkey for the connection to be established. Is this situation normal? Any help would be appreciated.

This sounds like a setting is incorrect.

You have an option in BT manager to connect automatically whioch should be chosen. Your choice to use a passkey or not.

I have looked for an option to connect automatically but have not been able to find it either under the Bluetooth Manager or in the help.
