Groupwise PDA Sync and Dell X51v...
Dudes! I got a Dell! LOL
I got my Axim yesterday and have been trying to get Groupwise 7 and the PDA Connect to work without any luck. I'm wondering if GW 7 doesn't support WM 5.0 and ActiveSync 4.1, but I thought I would see if anyone can at least tell me what to look for.
Originally I had Groupwise installed and had not used Outlook or Outlook Express. When I installed Active Sync from the CD, I initially didn't install Outlook. I had hoped I could bypass it completely. This caused continuous errors (85010014 I believe) in Active Sync and GW PDA Connect would not install on the Axim. I removed and reinstalled PDA Connect and selected PocketPC 2003 (newest option I believe and got the Axim to take the PDA Connect .CAB, but it wouldn't sync using PDA Connect. Additionally, every time I ran/run PDA Connect, it always brings up the ActiveSync Add/Remove programs dialog and asks if I want to continue with the reinstall.
I finally removed EVERYTHING and installed Outlook 2002 and ActiveSync from the CD. I now can sync to/from Outlook (default account). I then installed GW 7, which installed the Outlook connector and I was able to configure an additional e-mail account to Groupwise using Outlook, but no GW info will sync to the Axim from either Active Sync or GW PDA Connect.
I would really appreciate any input/perspective on how all this is supposed to work together. I'm not even sure Outlook should be needed.

Welcome to aximusers.com.
You can sync with Groupwise, but you need to buy a 3rd party utility called Intellisync . Get it on line from http://www.intellisync.com/is_desktop_main.html
Unfortunately no free utilities exists to do this sync as Groupwise is a comparitively rare use, although I know from my own company, in the corporate environment it is well used.
Cost is approx $70.

Would you be able to use both the Outlook and Groupwise on a x51v?

Just Groupwise is okay with me, but since I can't get it to work alone, I tried getting it to work with Outlook setup with a Groupwise account.

Axim X51v and Intellisync errors
Hi everyone! I picked up an Axim X51v to replace my X5 a couple months ago. Love it! EXCEPT..... for the fact that we use GroupWise at work for our email, and to sync it to the Axim, I have to use Intellisync 5.5.0 and ActiveSync 4.1.
Now with the X5, using Intellisync 5.1.2 (patched) and AS 3.8, I never had any problem synchronizing. Going to WM5 and the updated Is and AS, I get an intermittent Internal Error code when I try to synchronize.
I've spent the past month and a half sending emails back and forth with Intellisync about the issue, and they have been fantastically helpful in trying to solve this. From the logs, what they think is happening is that Intellisync is not recognizing the ActiveSync / Axim connection, and saying that the program can't connect to the PDA.
Has anyone ever seen this sort of error before anywhere? We can't tell if it's an Intellisync / ActiveSync issue... and ActiveSync / Axim X51v issue... or an Intellisync / Axim X51v issue. OR... maybe it's an issue with the cradle, the USB connection or the HP workstation that I have... but I've also had the problem connected to other PCs and Laptops (so I doubt it's an issue with a particular PC).
Any help you might give would be great!!
Thanks!
Kevin

X51/GroupWise PDA Connect/ActiveSync
I have been able to sync my x51 successfully in the past by using the install CD to install Outlook and ActiveSync. Lastly I install GW PDA Connect. But, for the past month or so I keep getting a GW PDA Connect message, "Unable to connect to device. Verify that ActiveSync is running.", ActiveSync is running.
I'm running Outlook 2003, ActiveSync 4.2 but reverted back to 4.1 as a test, and GW PDA Connect 7.01. I've uninstalled and reinstalled everything several times, turned off all firewalls, and set up my defaults to GW and Outlook. I've talked to our GW administrator and they have not had any other reported issues.
Any suggestions or similar experiences?
