Axim X51v odd problem
I've had my axim x51v for just over a month now, and i must admit that i have not experienced any problems expressed throughout the site. Although i must also express that since the new update (A06) the minor problem i have is that now the microphone shoulder button does not function in the way that it should. The first time i turn on the axim, the button activates the recording function, but any try after this results in no response. Bear in mind when i say powering on, i mean from proper shut down (not standby mode). Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Snatz

Hi Snatz,
Can you clarify what you meant by:
1. "The first time i turn on the axim, the button activates the recording function, but any try after this results in no response.";
2. "Bear in mind when i say powering on, i mean from proper shut down (not standby mode)."?
Are you trying to say that:
1. When your x51v start up after a complete power off; the record button activates the record function (it works) when you press it.
2. However, when you press it the second time, it does not work.
If that is what you are trying to ask, then I would say that your x51v (record button) does not behave in the way it should. In short, something wrong. It's best to inform Dell ... waranty issues.
I can press mine as many times as I like, & it will activate whatever program that I assigned the button to (Rotate screen).
To all the members reading this. At the time of posting, our friend has a zero. Any ideas ... please help out another fellow member.

In stead of creating a new thread on weird problems I'll just "hijack" this one a tad.
I found that if my PDA is switched off for a period of time (few hours) , I cannot switch it on by pressing the power button (or keep it pressed), but I have to soft reset. Is this a defect ?

Hi Snatz,
Now that we understand what the problem is, try a hard reset. Press & hold the Power button, & push the Reset switch (behind the Axim).
REMEMBER to backup your data before you do the hard reset.
If you still have the problem after a hard reset, make sure Dell replace it.
Nevertheless, it's best to inform Dell for warranty issues.
Good luck.
