activesync hates me and my exchange server
i sync with an exchange server. the last time i set it up, it synced 1 time perfectly, no problems at all. then synced with the comp and said it couldn't sync to the exchange server (Cannot connect with current connection settings: Error code 85020006). so, i take it off the cradle and try, hoping for the ability to sync over the wireless network. this doesn't work either.
so, on the pda it actually says cannot connect with current connection settings, then has a blue clickable hyperlink called connections. this link takes me to a menu of connections, all of which are dial in connections. i don't have any kind of dial in connection, and i don't want one. it's either usb cable or wireless network, that's it. how do i convince my pda of this? also, in PIE any page i try to visit i get some generic error like page cannot be found instantly. at the same time, in the dell wireless config, i was able to ping an external host properly (however, it was receiving insanely high pings, like 60 100 60 etc). i'm not using the odyssey client, just dell's default thing.
so, i decided while at a friends house that i really needed to get online, so it was worth the hard reset. i hard reset, everything working perfectly again. i was excited and thought maybe it just got confused and the hard reset fixed it.
after a good deal of use, i decided it was time to get the exchange server working again (i had been using regular activesync prior to this without a hitch). i add the exchange server, and as soon as i do, i get very similar problems.
this time it's not so bad though, i can sync to exchange when not in the cradle, but not if the pda is in the cradle. it still gives the same error message if i do that.
what's goin on?!? can anyone please explain to me what to do :'(. i've done tons of searches on the error code, and the error message, etc. but nothing has helped. surely i'm not the only one to experience this o_O
