dell bt gps fixed with minor frustration

Welllll...I thought last night I had my gps partnered up but I guess I didn't as for the life of me I couldn't get it set today. Called Dell tech support ...what a waste of time. "Try a soft reset"....no signal? "Try a hard reset". I told him no I wouldn't try a hard reset until I got back home from work and only as a last resort. Here is what I had to do to get my axim to auto sync with the dell bt gps. Deleted the gps program from both my pc and my axim through active sync. Went to www.navigation.com/dellupdate. downloaded the newest version of navteq software for axim 51v. tapped start/settings and under system tab opened gps icon. under programs tab set program port to none. Under hardware tab set hardware port to none. Under access tab checked box for auto sync. Tapped bluetooth icon and unpaired whatever was there. deleted the incoming and outgoing ports under ports tab. Made sure bluetooth was on and gps reciever were on. Installed new navteq software and maps. opened gps software icon under programs and voila auto detect and pairing ....gotta love it.

You downloaded the update? Including maps?

The only thing I could find on the Navteq site was the option to purchase "updated" maps (from 2006!) for $99.

Am I missing something? Or can you update the maps/software upon purchase?

Alright, I cannot take it anymore. I just posted about GPS for Axim X51V and did some forum searching and came across this. I tried to download the update, but apparently the update is only good if your map CDs are dated April 2006, and I get an error saying "wrong version of map data cd found." Sure enough, mine is dated May 2005. Where is the update for the CDs I have? Can anyone help? Thanks.
