Wireless connection woes :(

I could really do with some help setting it up on my home wireless Network
It picks up the signal and does broadcast the SSID (BeBox) , and when i input the code at the back of the router, pretty much nothing happens. It shows that I am connecting, but thats as far as it goes.

Right, I currently have 2 wireless connections in my house, once of which i switched off the secure encryption, and my pda jumps on just fine.
This line will not be there for much longer unfortunately.
My then switched off the encryption on the other router, but my pda still wont connect to it. I phoned Dell themselves and gone through al the possible settings on my PDA, yet i still cannot connect to the socond named connection, whether i need the passkey or not.

Any ideas?

It's unfortunate Dell hired clowns for tech support. I'm a comedian, so I might be able to help.

You mentioned "... switched off the secure encryption, and my pda jumps on just fine...", were you able to get on the Internet? If you can, then it's a fairly simple fix.

You also mentioned "switched off the encryption on the OTHER router, but my pda still won't connect. It'll not connect if you're using the first router's info.

When the Dell rep go over with you, which router's info did he use? If he used only one, then it's a joke. You need 2 different configurations for 2 different routers.

1. The router belongs to you & you've the username & password to access your router.
2. You know how to get your security key (I can get it for you too).
3. You must send flowers to my sis in Surrey (just kidding).

Hi enquerir, i FINALLY got it cracked
One router was using b and g (the one i could get onto)
and the other was just using b at the time. I changed the router settings and did a hard restart on the router and voila

ps: add me to your msn anyways, im sure ill annoy you with a million other nooby questions though I can do with some advice on what killer apps to get for the PDA

Glad to hear things work out for you. The mixed mode (default setting) is the proper one. Just remember to reset your router whenever you change settings. Allow 10 seconds for "instructions" to come through. Then boot-up router first followed by desktop. I'll add you to my MSN list.

Think thats the only issue i have with my Axim, is that its not g - compatible.
Why on earth would Dell decide to omit the functionality/compatibility, seeing as g is the new industry standard ?
