axim x51v sync issue
I have a new Axim x51v. I set it up on XP and I have no issues. I set it up on my workstation at work which runs Windows 2000 Professional SP4 and the 4.91 Novell client and I cannot get the ActiveSync Wizard to establish a partenership; in fact it does not come up at all. The Axim is recognized and listed under network connections in the device manager but after it does the initial detection instead of running the wizard it just goes poof.
What I have done.
-connected locally with no network connection
-uninstalled all anti-virus and spy ware programs
-there is no firewall on this machine
-reinstalled SP4
-used ActiveSync 4.1 off the microsoft web site
-deleted all four usb ports and had w2k rediscover them
-soft reset the axim
-hard reset the axim
-called dell (whose only recommendation was to upgrade windows mobile 5.0 on the axim which is hard to do if you can't sync to it).
This is definitely a w2k/axim issue. any takers? thanks
