Dell axim x51 not able to Sync to inspiron1200

hi friends i need help.

I brough new dell axim x51.i wanted to sync with my inspiron 1200.i installed active sync 4 and tried.the sync never finds the axim.it shows connecting but never connects.

i have windows xp version on laptop and have norton installed.

i even tried unistallling the active sync and then turning the fire wall off but it diidnt work.

please tell me how to sync....

i really want to sync wothout this its of no use.
axim is 520 mhz and 128 mb ram.comes with bluetooth and i.r and cradle.

Sounds like something is blocking the connection.

You need to make sure that on your laptop, you have switched off Norton ( which includes a firewall), your XP firewall and anu zone alarms or Sbybot programs you have installed.

Remove Activesync from your PC and download a fresh copy of 4.1. Plug in the cradle and axim when asked and you should connect.

If you still have problems, look at Control Panel, system, hardware, Device panel and look for the icon showing the network connection to your X51. If their is an exclamation mark, the driver has a problem, try deleting this and rebooting the inspiron.

Incidentially, are you connecting direct or via a hub ?. Hubs and docking stations give problems, you need a direct connection.

thanks drifter the fire wall was the problem.i turnes it off and now i am abl to sync it.
