Setting Up Media Player on X51v

Can anyone help me on this. I have Media Player 10 on both my PC and my PDA. When I synch, beside the Media icon there's a hyperlink that says "Set Up Must Be Completed". (I have added a 1 GB SD card in my PDA.) When I continue to "set up a partnership", Windows Media Player continues to tell me that no device is recognized. I've even tried to add my device on the options section of the synch tools menu.

Any suggestions

Delete your device through File-->Delete Mobile Device. Allow Activesync to rediscover the Axim by plugging it back in to the cradle. Remove the USB hub if you are connecting through one.

If you are using Activesync 4.0 that came with your Dell, download the newest version, 4.1, from Microsoft.

If this doesn't work, please post the error message verbatim.

I followed your intructions exactly and I'm in action now. I deleted the device & I downloaded 4.1 and it found my device with no problem. When I synch the sync window continues to say "Set Up Must Be Completed" beside the Media icon so I just used the Media Player on my pc to sync with my device. My pc Media finally recognized my device and I was able to sync to my sd card on my PDA. Don't now how to get rid of that message on my synch window.

You're certainly welcome!

I've used the Media sync functionality on the X51v, and found it to be cumbersome at best. A much easier method of transfer of media files to your PPC is to disable the media sync function (Activesync Tools-->Options-->Media uncheck) and manually copy the files to your storage (ROM or expansion card).

When I used the media sync option, I had the same "Setup must be completed" error problem as you. The process worked but Activesync thought it didn't... Eliminate the media sync factor from the equation and DIY, faster and better.

I have tried both methods and have returned to sync and here is why:
Using the WM to play movies and MP3s via the sync process maintains my playlists and allows me to update the file information (last played etc.) and I enjoy that feature. If I simply copy over to my SD Card I have to select a song and play it (I haven't found a way to schedule my play lists on the PDA). If I could uninstal the WM and replace it with a more versatile player then I would reconsider.
