I have had no problems with my X51v. I have had it for two weeks now and have updated to A06.

I signed this petition and agree with holding Dell to its responsibility to support its products. Dell must fix inadequacies in its proprietary hardware drivers in its high end Axim line and the supporting software (ie Dell wifi and BT clients).
However, don't ignore the responsibility of Microsoft itself for many of the glitches that bother people. Microsoft made the Windows Mobile 5 operating system and most of the default programs that come with it.
Dell alone is not to blame for the troubles many experience, but this petition is a good start to getting the public message out. We need fixes to enhance and simplify users' usage of the Pocket PC platform. Usability of the current products directly impact the future sales of software and hardware manufacturers' sales, so it is in Dell and MS's interests to update and continually improve their products based on customer feedback.
Thanks for the petition notice, Leslierad!

my dell x51v is the 3rd unit exchanged since I got it 3mths ago. my biggest problem appears to be memory (i think) coz it takes literally minutes for my pda to start up which is rather silly considering its top end product. i've never had any such problems with previous pdas both palm & pocketpc os so, i'm rather disappointed although the problem could be attributed to the new win mobile os. dell, unfortunately, doesn't have a clue what's happening!

It WAS a great idea and lets keep it going
BUT
really, just think how many x50,x50v, x51 and x51v's that Dell have sold globally over the past 18 months and after 1 month only 1385 people have registered dissatisfaction.
I'd bet that is well below 1% of sales, so Dell could use this petition to claim 99%+ customer satisfaction in the range.( can't you tell I'm in sales)
Don't misunderstand me, I do not support any company that sells faulty goods but in the PC world, software bugs and fixes are the accepted norm unfortunately.
To coin an IT saying of a few years ago.. Their are no software bugs, just unexpected system features.

i hear waht you are saying...this is just an unfortunate situation.
i just hope dell will take teh time to respond. if you read the petition notes, many signing it are IT managers of both large and small businesses who have purchasing power.
i have always been a dell fan, but have been really disappointed by them in this issue. at least give us a press release or statement concerning the status of wm5 on the axim. the way that have stayed silent and hidden things has made me really upset.
