Outlook Express and the x51

Will Outlook Express work with the x51? I can't seem to get anything to work or even see my address book on my pda.

Outlook Express requires a third party sync program such as SyncData to synchronize with your Pocket PC. Other programs exist for this function as well, but no freeware to my knowledge.

I have to diasgree with Mahstah.

The x51 WILL sync with Outlook expess. Outlook express is a reduced feature version of Outlook, both supplied by Microsoft. Activesync, which is a free program to download from Microsoft, will do the communication, you do not need any 3rd party software as is suggested

Please look up how to make Activesync synchronize with Outlook Express. You will find that it doesn't even though OE, supplied with Windows, is similar to Outlook supplied with Office, and are both Microsoft products. OE is not a stripped down version of Outlook, they are not even written in the same language, in fact OE has some abilities Outlook does not such as Newsgroup browsing.

Gambitex, one question I forgot to ask. Why not upgrade to Outlook, then it solves any problems. Outlook is bundled free with every axim sold, so it is a zero cost option irrespective of any discussion regarding 3rd party solutions.

As a daily user of Outlook (in my business), I upgraded from outlook express to Outlook some time ago.Outlook is a much better program to use.

If your concern is about loss of data, don't worry, their is an option to import from express to Outlook which I think is asked during setup, if not, then their is an import facility that you can use after installation. Plus, when you have installed Outlook, both Outlook and outlook express will be on your PC and you could select to move back to express as your default mail program if you really hate Outlook.
