Activesync 4.1 and pc browsing problem

I've got an odd problem that I was wondering if anyone here might have a solution for.

I've got an X51v (A06) that can easily do the following on my work system:

1. Sync files & with out SBS exchange server while docked

2. Connect to our lab's wireless G router and via a manual sync can activate a connection to our corporate VPN and sync to our SBS exchange server.

So, everything works fine at work as I would like. However, at home I see the following behavior:

1. I can connect to my wireless G router at home and surf just fine.

2. I can sync files on my system, but my desktop's wireless internet connectivity falls off and frequently fails and the connection to the wireless router cannot be easily established. This seems to happen more frequently when the unit is docked, but does happen often even if the unit is undocked.

I've uninstalled 4.0 and/or 4.1 and reinstalled, but I'm still seeing the problem. It seems as though my pc sees the tcpip connection from the docked Axim as the wireless connection it should switch to using. Maybe network browser election issue?

I've temporarily uninstalled activesync and I'm not having any internet connectivity issues. Has anyone else seen this problem or have any ideas how to work around this?

Oddly, the default is to create a "network connection" to your PPC even IF the network adapters installed on your PPC are DISABLED.

If this were not stupid enough but MS decided to default to "internet sharing on this connection" as the default. <grr>

Click on the network connection created by plugging in your axim and make sure that "let other computers share this connection" is turned OFF.

You could try changing the network adapter priority on your host machine running XP. While your Axim is synced, go to your Network Connections folder and go to the Advanced menu, Advanced Settings. Move the priority of the Axim network connection below your desktop internet connection adapter. Let us know if that helps.

Folks, I'm sorry I've taken so long to reply. I had gotten that infamous 15 minute lockout after changing my password and hadn't gotten back for a while, but had somehow fixed the problem in the meantime, BUT...

Mark, I see you're from Hillsboro...most of my family relatives live in the Portland area. In fact, one set of grandparents used to live over in Cedar Hills, back before those strange merge lights appeared to get on I5 and the "Banfield"/26. I also occasionally deal with clients from a certain large chipmaker in your area too. But enough small-talk...

After upgrading to the A12 ROM I'm (unsurprisingly) experiencing the same issue, but I'm going to try these again and see what happens. Both are excellent suggestions. Mastah, I'd never noticed the Advanced Setting on the menubar before, so thanks for that suggestion. Sheesh, I've been looking at XP and XP betas since 2000/2001 and you'd think I would have seen that at some point. I guess you CAN teach an old dog new tricks!
