Axim in the Deep Freeze

Perhaps being that the temperature outside is 10 below, it figures. My Axim 51x is locked or frozen in one screen and I have no idea how to free it. I was trying to download a program when the screen gave me the following message: "Handshaking with PC... Operation time out." I tried a hard reset on the back - nothing. I am truly stuck in the deep freeze.

Do you mean literally a hard reset, right back to factory settings, losing all your installed programs and data?
And is it an X51 or X51v?

The lack of response when you tried to reset, a soft reset you seem to indicate, as you didn't mention the power button, suggests that the lock button on the top left of the axim may be engaged, even partially. Make sure it is fully off, no red showing, and try the reset again. Otherwise, remove the battery for an extended period of time. and replace and see if that works
