Axim X51 Memory capabilities different than X51v?

Hello to all!

I have been reading up on this site for a while and I see that the X51v can support up to 32 gb Compact Flash cards.

I have the X51 and a Seagate 8GB MicroDrive Compact Flash card and I cant get my X51 to see it, is there a way I can?

Ive seen rumors of 32 gb sticks work on the x51v, and almost NOTHING for the x51. If I could at least get the microdrive to work (WM6 on the axim), id be happy :d thats plenty of space for me. thanks for replying though! I didnt really expect one lol

No rumour - I have a 32GB CF and a 16GB SDHC and they both work fine. I think the problem may just be compatibility with the microdrive - or maybe either the microdrive or CF slot has a physical problem. Have you got a CF card reader to try the microdrive?

It'd be alot less heartache if you'd just sell the microdrive on ebay and get a CF and SD card to fill your needs.

Terminology question? My x51v manual says it uses Type II CF. But in the post above, it's suggested that the user get rid of the microdrive (which is what I've seen the Type II described as) and get a CF. Will the Axim support a Type I CF? (If it makes a difference, I'm using Lenny's A07 ROM.) Also, is there any advantage to using a CF over an SDHC card?
