I just got a axim x50v it has 2003 windows and I want to upgrade to the WM5as my axim x51 has it and i like it. I was looking at the other posts and I could not d/l the 99mb file to save my life as the site hosting it sucks.
Does anyone know of a link for this ? I spent hours in class trying to find it but now I have to ask you guys

Make sure you download the right Rom for your axim. Also be aware that WM5 was not designed to run on the x50v, and many people have had lots of trouble with it.

I then downloaded the a02 update for the V english model from dell...
It seems like its not as fast as my axim x51 the axim x50v does seem to work playing video files, starting programs but just a tad laggy, I didnt realize that there was so many issues with the x50v going to wm5 when i bought the item...
The plan was since myself and my gf are both in nursing i wanted to give her my old pda x51 with a few drug guide programs and a medical dictionary and then upgrade myself to the x50v model.. thinking that even though it was a model older it would have better speed ect...
So now for my next question.
Is there any further updates for the axim x50v other then the 02 rom.....
I see a wm6 rom is floating around the internet but would that address any speed issues? I dont care for the fancy stuff I just want the speed when i need it
The lag or slowing down, of the x50v is one of the most often reported issues with the wm5 upgrade with power drain issues as well. The AO2 rom was as far as Dell went with the x50v.
