Driver CD

Hello All,
I just got a used x50v from Amazon. Problem - it didn't come with the driver CD so I can't get any of my computers to recognize it. My home machine is an apple - strike one. I don't have admin rights on my desktop at work - strike 2. I have an older laptop that I keep at work for watching DVDs on my lunch. While it will communicate with the Axim via the IF port (whicked slow) it still needs the drivers installed in order to comm via the Axim's dock. Download the drivers, you say? Strike 3 - the laptop doesn't have internet access. I haven't been able to find the drivers online. Does anyone on this forum have drivers that they can email to me or a CD they can send me? I'll make a copy and send it back.

I am assuming that you are trying to sync two machines, Axim to PC or Axim to Mac. If that is your aim you might not want to strike the Apple Mac option so quickly. There is grudging acceptance of interoperability between platforms hence there are a couple of shareware products I have identified which are designed for sync between Windows handhelds/mobiles and the mac (both PPC/Intel chipsets) including support for sync with Entourage. These apps are PocketMac and The Missing Sync. At the moment I am still evaluating so cannot say yet whether I think one is better than the other. If it is something you would like to try perhaps a more experienced person can help out on this question.

Good call on Missing Sync and PocketMac GG. For the PC drivers, ActiveSync has all the drivers you need to sync. You should get version 4.5 from MS's site. It does require administrative privileges.
