Please help me!
I have a x50, which was doing fine. I tried to copy some Xcel files on, and all Hell has broken loose. I did a restore from backup, a soft reset, etc. I can't see any programs. I have pocket Quicken, Excel, and Word, and can not even get to Games! The files are there, because I can see them with ActiveSync on my PC. My contacts seem to be there, also, but I can't get to them with the handheld! What should I do? I hate to do a hard reset...please give me some advice! Thanks. CKH

Hi CKH-
What OS and ROM version are you using? Check the Dell site to see if there is an upgrade available. This is a good time to do it because it sounds like you need to hard reset anyways. It's not as painful as you think- just have your program registration information handy.

I cannot get to the Dell Forum site for Axim. There does not seem to be any upgrade that I can use. How bad is it to do a hard reset? I cannot get to my contacts, or to PocketQuicken, although it says it is there. Everytime my handheld goes off, the time changes back to pre-daylight savings time! What is up with this? Thanks

You can find your ROM version on the Axim in Start-->Settings-->System-->System Information. Compare that to the version available on Dell's support downloads site. Your restored backup (mentioned in the email to me) is what caused the hubbub.

I am still having trouble. There are no downloads for my Axim 50. I can get to all programs (contacts, email, calendar) using the buttons on the Axim. When I go to"programs" nothing shows up except a "games" folder, and there is nothing in it! I have pocketQuicken, and have been able to sync this with my home computer. However, I cannot find Pocket Quicken on the handheld, even though it says Landware PocketQuicken is there. What should I do now? Thank you for your help. Should I possible reload Pocket Quicken? How do I do this, except for syncing with my Home PC? I use only Outlook and calendar at work; not Quicken. Help, Help! Thanks.

You should really hard reset as suggested above. It will restore your factory programs and you can reinstall Quicken afterwards. You haven't mentioned your ROM or OS version, please advise. Thanks,

OS/Rom
All I know is: in Settings/About, it says Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition Version 4.21.1088 (Build 142.2.0.5. Processor: Intel(R) PSX270, Memory 62.76 MB; Expansion Slot: In use. Is there anyplace else to look? I can get to only my contacts and calendar. No excel files or word files, that I can find. I will do the hard reset if you think it is the thing to do. I have to reload PocketQuicken anyway. Thanks for your help. I am very dumb in all this, but I need this handheld! Thanks. Carolyn

The ROM version is listed in System Information as stated above, not in About. With the information you've provided, the sole recourse is a hard reset.
