receive email,cant send

Hello, new axim51v, 2.5 hour long call with yahoo but cant send mail. The tech told me to change port but dont know how and if I should. You guys are my new best friends. No really thanks for this site.

You probably have a problem in your SMTP settings in Pocket Outlook. See these posts for suggestions:

Note: Your Yahoo configuration is likely not the same as the other providers in the links, which are provided as examples. Check with Yahoo for the proper security settings.

tried the links. tried smtp port ( :587). Still getting message "messages cannot be downloaded to your mobile device. Make sure you are connected and that your email account settings are correct. Then try to download the message again." I can receive only.

The post mahstah directed you to was just an example, you need to input the settings and port number enabled for your Yahoo account. the link to yahoo that mastah gave you mentions port 25, be sure of the specific settings for your account, you might want to look at the Yahoo site again there are options.Have a closer look at the post

?does your PC do what you want your ax to do, can you not replicate copy/paste the settings from your account that works to ax? simple thought.

Yes I understand the links were examples and I applied correct settings. I send and receive using desktop. I cannot find a place in axim to change ports so I typed :587 after smtp setting. Will not send. Going back to DELL HELL but dont expect much. Let me know if you have any ideas. Thanks

Dell tech has just informed me that the axim 51v cant send and receive email. It can only sync with outlook!!?

What a joke. I'd ask my mother before I went to Dell for support (she does happen to be PPC savvy however). While it's true that you can only SYNC with Outlook, you can send and receive mail with Pocket Outlook hence the presence of a POP3 configuration wizard.
