I'm a Noob and I just got the x50v

hello all, i just picked this thing up from a private seller. This thing is so confusing, its ridiculous lol. I can't even connect to the wifi, it says network connected but the internet explorer will not load websites, it says something about current connection not working and i gotta setup my isp with a dial up # wtf is that about, i can't even sync to the computer, says mobile not detected, the OS is so hard

someone help me plz!!!

first check Dell's website. I'm sure you'll find an updated ROM version (A06 I think).

If your network says "connected" but you can't surf the web, try this --

start | settings | connections tab - then click "connections"
check off "this network connects to the internet"
then UNcheck "this network uses a proxy server to connect to the internet"

then click ok, and try to access the internet again.
I don't know anything about networks nor WM5, but this seems to work for me when I get this trouble. Just something to try.

Heard that WM5 doesn't work too well on the X50V. For WM5, the X51V is needed.

True, the X50v's hardware was meant for WM2003SE, not WM5. It was so problematic that Dell stopped supporting it, they only offer a downgrade to 2003SE on their site as a ROM upgrade option. You should use the downgrade, WM2003SE is still a great OS and the X50v is a great PPC when using that OS.
