Using CF and SD as memory cards - probs

Hi,

i want to be able to Store all my music on my 2 GB cf card and all my programs and files on a 1GB SD card, leaving the internal memory free for the essentials. This has created a problem.now my axim x50v temporarily loses the contents of the SD Card (where music player was) and also the paths to mp3 files on the CF Card! tried moving music player to internal memory. no luck. is there a solution to this?'

Well further to this the silly axim has wiped my SD card twice, while leaving the CF card untouched.

Im going to install all progs to the CF and discard the SD card and see if this helps.

I dont want to install programs to the main memory as i need the RAM for running pocket music and tomtom at the same time

What version of the ROM are you using ??.

Make sure that you are on ROM verion A05.

It bis very unusual that the SD card is actually wiped. Are you sure you have not got a faulty SD card. ??

how do i check the ROM?

Nothing wrong with the SD Card before, problems only started after i added the CF memory card.

how do i upgradE????

You need to visit Dell.com and download the update.

Look at the DEll site, support, downloads and you will be able to find the ROM update.

Make sure you use the correct one for your x50. Their is a different one for the x50 and x50v.
