x50v, GPS Bluetooth, and WM5 problem with Dell

I bought the Axim x50v with the Bluetooth GPS and an upgrade to Windows Mobile 5 when it became available. When I got the WM5 upgrade it included information to get the GPS system update from Navteq.com/dellupdates. This link only has the European version of the Navteq GPS system. Dell tells me I am out of luck. I have to rollback to my previous operating system. I think Dell shoud fix this for us North Americans. Anybody else have the same problem? Did it get resolved? Thanks.
