Hard reset - Active Sync - and you...

I had to perform a hard reset (no other way to recover), now I can not duplicate the former assoication with Active sync (to sync all my data back) to my device. Active sync sees this as a new PDA. Does anyone know a work around to this? I tried a restore but the system says the restore file is corrupt. As much fun as I would have doing this manually, I would rather not do it that way. Any suggestions? Thanks fellas.

The classic mistake is that before the hard reset, the regional settings on the PDA have been customised, but during hard resetting, they changed back to the default.

In this case, active sync sees the PDA as a new devise and not the same. Solution is to change the regional settings after hard reset to match those used before

Also you need to check that the PDA name after hard reset matches the original name used. IF necessay, you need to change this in the PDA.

I neglected to mention that I have done this. Silly me thinking I could out smart a computer. It tells me to pick another name because that one is already in use. Now if the description has to match as well, now we have some potential issues.

Ok, if all your data is also in outlook, then choosing a new name and syncing will but all the PIM data on the PDA
