Loss of Wifi after cradling in WM5

Hey everyone,

I just recently took the plunge and upgraded to WM5 on my Axim X50v. Everything installed fine but I have a major complaint:

In WM2003SE I could have wifi on and plug my axim into it's cradle without loss of service, however in WM5 it leaves wifi on but behind the scenes disconnects it so you no longer have an ip or connection via wifi.

This is mainly a problem for me because it interupts services and AIM CE 2.0 which works otherwise will not work through the cradle's connection.

Basically the fact that wifi drops is just plain unsatisfactory and frustrating, makes me want to strangle anybody wearing a blue microsoft polo. The reason I'm posting this is that after a ton of searching online I've only seen anything like this mentioned in a short ambigious wifi-error thread on a microsoft dev forum. The response was..."Thats the way it works"... more like "doesn't work" I'd say. But anyway I was wondering if someone could confirm that this happens to everyone and of course if there happens to be a work around please do post it here.

Because of the way AS 4+ works as a virtual network adapter and the fact that the Axim can only have 1 IP address at a time, WM5 devices do disconnect wifi and switch network connectivity to the "Remote-NDIS Host" adapter upon sync. This transition has been flawless for me with open webpages etc, but I haven't used chat and can't attest to the smoothness of transition for chat programs.

Yes, for web pages it's not too much of a problem, though I've not tried plugging it on while logged into a bank account website via https or anything. However I like to use it with aim which just plain doesn't work now and if I'm playing some media in media player or beta player over wifi the ip switch interupts that as well. They should offer an active sync method that forgoes the new virtual network and connects the old way, leaving my wifi intact. There really just isn't any excuse for not doing so.
