Memory error - my Axim doesn't boot :-(

I bought a PDA type Dell Axim x50v a week ago. I can not use it because it has the following error. I was using my PDA and suddenly it stopped working. It did not answer any command. Its backlight was working continuously. Has anyone had a similar error yet?

The situation only changed when I pushed the reset button. But it did not really seem to help my PDA did not boot and it gave the following error message: „A memory error has been detected.” My PDA continues to boot if I push the power and reset buttons at the same time. In this case, however, it will delete all the data from the memory. I have the following question. Which of the memories will be deleted? Will the protected inner memory be left untouched?

This happened to me after I upgraded to WM5. To fix this, there is a 2-step process. First, put the unit in the charger. Once you turn the unit on, disable any and all Today Screen plugins that moniter Battery.

This is a symptom of a dead battery. I wish they had a better screen to denote that other than the "memory error" screen that comes up. There is a large write-up and discussion on this on the http://www.aximsite.com forums. Good luck.

It happened to me as well a week after I upgraded to WM5. Dell ended having to replace it.
